Osprey Ring — User Guide

Welcome to the Osprey Ring User Guide. This page explains how to get the most out of your smart ring and the Osprey Ring app.

1. Getting Started

1.1 Unbox & Charge

• Place the ring on the wireless charging dock
• Full charge takes ~90 minutes
• A full battery lasts approximately 5 days under normal usage

1.2 Pair Your Ring

1. Open the Osprey Ring app
2. Sign in with email, Google, or Apple ID
3. Tap Pair Ring and place the ring near your phone
4. Wait for connection confirmation

1.3 Wear It Properly

• Wear on your index, middle, or ring finger
• The sensors (small green LEDs) should sit on the palm side of your finger
• Snug but not tight — should not slide off but allow blood flow

2. Health Metrics

Your Osprey Ring measures the following vitals:

2.1 Important Note on Blood Pressure

When you measure blood pressure, the ring also captures heart rate, SpO2, and temperature in the same measurement. This is by design — BP and these vitals share the same PPG sensor waveform.

2.2 Calibration (Blood Pressure & Glucose)

For improved accuracy, calibrate your BP and BG readings periodically against a reference device (cuff-style monitor for BP, glucometer for BG). The app guides you through 3 calibration measurements.

3. Sleep Tracking

The ring tracks sleep automatically when worn overnight. After waking, the Sleep tab shows:

• Total duration and sleep score (0–100)
• Stages: Deep, Light, REM, Awake
• Efficiency percentage
• Trend over the past 7 days

No manual action needed — just wear the ring while sleeping.

4. Activity & Exercise

4.1 Daily Activity (Activity tab)

• Steps, distance, calories, active hours
• Hourly breakdown chart
• Goal progress ring

4.2 Exercise Mode (Exercise tab)

1. Choose a sport type (running, walking, cycling, etc.)
2. Tap Start — the ring captures HR continuously
3. Live Activity shows on your Lock Screen during workouts
4. Tap Stop to save the session

5. Settings & Customization

In the Me tab → App Settings:

• Language — 6 languages supported
• Appearance — Light, Dark, or System
• Unit System — Metric or Imperial
• 24-Hour Format — toggle
• Notifications — health alerts, reminders
• Goals — set your daily step, sleep, and activity targets

In the Me tab → Ring Settings:

• Firmware Update — keep your ring updated
• Ring Airplane Mode — disable BLE temporarily
• Find My Ring — flash the ring's LED to locate it
• Remove Connected Device — unpair the ring

6. Battery & Charging

• Place the ring on the dock with the inner sensor facing the contacts
• Charging LED indicator (on dock) glows during charging
• Disconnect when the app shows 100%
• Do NOT charge while wearing the ring

7. Troubleshooting

Ring won't connect

• Toggle Bluetooth off/on in your phone's Settings
• Reopen the Osprey Ring app
• Make sure the ring has battery (charge for at least 5 minutes if dead)

Measurements show "--"

• Wear the ring snugly with sensors against the skin
• Keep your hand still during measurement
• Make sure the ring is within ~1 meter of your phone

Sleep didn't sync

• Open the app within range of the ring after waking up
• Sleep data syncs the next time the ring is connected
